Director’s Vision
Off-campus programmes at NLSIU have gone through a rapid evolution in 2020. We introduced an online learning platform, online teaching through virtual classes and online faculty mentoring in 2020.
The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated this transformation and we are glad to confirm that both students and teachers have embraced this radical change enthusiastically. Attendance in classes is up. Online examinations and vivas have been completed successfully and the Academic Year 2019-20 has ended on a high!
We begin Academic Year 2020-21 by launching our new website: online.nls.ac.in The fresh and contemporary design and our new domain name signal the new directions we will pursue this year. Some other key initiatives include:
— a programme review and overhaul in line with a new credit structure; this will mean more class time/more faculty engagement for all programmes;
— we are upgrading our Learning Platform and developing high-quality learning material that embraces innovative pedagogical design and calibrated assessment; this will mean continuous updating our learning materials in all courses;
— We will launch new graduate, postgraduate and professional certificate, diploma and degree programmes that responds to the needs of law students, professionals, public servants, civil society workers and academics of all backgrounds;
— We will launch meticulously curated spaces for online community engagement, alumni networking, and career advancement. A tighter integration between our on-campus and off-campus programmes will give students an immersive NLS experience.
We invite all of you to join us and revitalize our off-campus programmes in the year ahead. NLS is committed to your learning experience with us. We will periodically measure student completion rates and student satisfaction and focus on improving both these measures of our performance.
Look forward to hearing back from any of you on how we can realize these goals in the year ahead. You can always reach me by email at vc(at)nls.ac.in.
Yours sincerely,
Prof (Dr.) Sudhir Krishnaswamy
